We bet you came here looking for snide comments about Quorum Classic cigars being perfect daily cigars, or great humidor fillers, or maybe even how they’re serviceable el-cheapos that you can foist onto your non-smoking buddies on poker night even as you keep losing, but it doesn’t have to be that way. These are real cigars after all; handmades full of Nicaraguan tobaccos blended by the experts at the J.C Newman cigar company and rolled by professionals in Carlos Torano’s factory. Say what you will about the price or basic bundle packaging, but we can’t really find fault with them. Sure the simple black and gold band design gracing each stogie won’t win any awards but you’re not looking for a fashion show anyway, and besides the cigar itself it nicely constructed without soft spots or noticeable blemishes on the Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper. Once fully blazing, an open draw provides plenty of access to its thick fragrant smoke and when puffed slowly will stay nice and cool. Sweet up front with just a hint of pepper in the nose, you can expect some roasted coffee and leather during the second and final thirds. Medium bodied and with strength to match, Quorum Classic cigars have a time and a place to be enjoyed and we won’t presume to know when and where yours will be. However, let us offer some suggestions so that you may discover for yourself; have one before breakfast with coffee, then a couple while flailing around a midday 18 holes, and finally finish the day by pairing one with a cheap, strong bourbon. Odds are you’ll want to repeat the experiment again someday soon. If you find this burns through them at a rate faster than expected, supplement your stash with some Nick’s Sticks Sun Grown.
