Montecristo White Series Vintage Connecticut is the newest cigar from the stalwart brand by Altadis. While there are two main changes from the regular and beloved White Label line, the main one is in the wrapper. Altadis is the only cigar manufacturer to own its own farm in Connecticut for its wrapper leaf, Gershel Farms. This new Montecristo uses the beautifully creamy and blonde Connecticut Shade wrapper from this exclusive barn to give the cigar a wonderfully mild-to-medium taste. With boxes and secondary bands adorned with beautiful artwork of a barn from the Gershel Farm, you know as soon as you open the box you are smoking something special. The subtle change from the normal Ecuador Connecticut wrapper of the regular White Series to the Shade used here is small but noticeable. The filler has a slightly different blend as well, utilizing Peruvian tobacco for the first time in this mild cigar line. This added leaf adds a bit of body and a bit spiciness found mostly on the retrohale.
