Kristoff Kristania

Kristoff is a super-premium cigar brand that competes with the likes of Arturo Fuente and Davidoff. Usually known for their mind-blowing full-bodied blends, Kristoff Kristania is a departure. Made in the Dominican Republic, Kristania is a wonderful medium-bodied, maybe just slightly higher, smoke with Dominican Habano filler and binder tobacco wrapped in a dark and oily Nicaraguan Criollo wrapper. While most Kristoff cigars need to be reserved for after dinner, this one is perfect for a mid-day smoke and will never overpower. Like all Kristoff cigars, the Kristania Band is very indistinct and almost matches the wrapper, making it camouflaged against the cigar. The Nicaraguan Criollo wrapper has a very mottled appearance and is not something that is overtly beautiful. But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we don't buy cigars to just look at them any way. While there is some spice in the initial puffs, this quickly subsided to reveal a cocoa and cedar core. This densely packed smoke had an easy draw and seemed to last forever. Kristoff Kristania is a cigar more for the medium-bodied cigar fan than the powerhouses the brand is known. If you are already a Kristoff fan, Kristania would be a perfect change of pace, or a cigar that can be smoked all day. We enjoyed ours with our mid-morning coffee and it really hit the spot. For something more powerful, give the Kristoff Ligero a try.
